About Toto

Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. In 1981 Toto's third album Turn Back was a flop however, they bounce back with their fourth release Isolation with two hits including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour makes them a household name around the world.

After a hiatus of a few years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in the year 1986. It marks a step away from the ballads that were featured on previous albums and also includes some heavy rock. The album was their first to go platinum in North America.

Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, is now replacing Fergie Frederiksen as lead vocalist. Joseph Williams is a natural frontman and provides the band with a much-needed boost.

Toto's touring band is rounded out by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.
