Albums
Toto's discography includes 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed The members of the band did session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen left The band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old tapes and recordings to create the special record. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked upon the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock group from the US that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group is made up of Steve Lukather (vocalist/guitarist), David Paich (bassist), Steve Porcaro (keyboardist/vocalist), Jeff Porcaro and Joseph Williams who is a guitarist and vocalist. The album Toto IV released in 1983 earned them international praise. Following the album's success the group embarked on a tour around the world in support of the album. During the tour, lead singer Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. At the conclusion of the tour, the band decided to let him go, and they hired guitarist/singer Joseph Williams to take his place. David Hungate, the drummer was also let go following the tour. Leland Sklar took over his place.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The group has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the group is "Africa", which has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, and shows the group performing on top of a book about Africa.
The song "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe and other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their popularity after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in America.
After the album's release, Toto went on a world tour. The group featured touring musicians Lenny Castro and Shannon Forrest. Warren Ham, Shem von Schröeck and Shem von Schroeck also were part of the group. Steve Lukather also released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985, Fergie Frederiksen, Toto's drummer, quit the group for personal reasons. The group decided to conduct an audition and ultimately chose Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.
Prior to and during the creation of Toto, its members did sessions for a variety of artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs which led to the band's formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan's records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto started working on a project entitled Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks, as well as several recordings of older songs. The album was a hit worldwide and the band went on a world tour to promote it.

Toto, known for the hit song "Africa" Recently, the band joined forces to promote their upcoming album, All In. The album debuted on November 6, 2018, and featured three new songs from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, and also recorded versions of four older tracks that featured Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also featured the cover of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe" which the band decided to add after hearing a version on the radio.
